DSG or manual for 2016 GLI?

Hey everyone, I’m currently looking at getting a 2016 GLI and found two near me that I’m interested in, they’re both about 100-110k miles but super clean and maintained well, but one is a DSG and the other is a manual. I recently sold my 2024 Civic Si and loved that car and the manual and am looking to get into something cheaper with a similar feel. I know over time I’d want to modify the Jetta and do some simple bolt ons and tune it, and part of me wants to go the manual route for the engagement and fun, but after watching so many videos and stuff and seeing the DSG in action and how nice it shifts I’m kinda stumped as to which one to go for. I drive about 25-30k miles a year and live around decent traffic so an auto would be nice for highway driving but I really feel like I’d really miss the feeling of rowing gears.

I found this 2004 Civic EX for sale on marketplace with 189k miles for $5k and it looked pretty nice, I don’t know much about these cars as far as common issues or if it’s worth it. The guy said it’s been very well maintained and he’s never had any issues with it, all he’s done to it was the CarPlay radio and a sub in the trunk. I’ll probably be going to look at it next week but I wanted to get some opinions on it just in case. I’m open to putting in some elbow grease on my own if need be for some stuff if it would need it but I don’t want to buy a ticking time bomb.
