Well i know the counselling hasnt begun yet but im currently trying to finalize my college list looking at the previous jossa & csab websites but i dont think im getting anything decent. i managed to score a 96 percentile in JEE, and given that im strictly avoiding private colleges, im seriously considering OUTR (formerly CET) Bhubaneswar for ECE.

I have a specific interest in the VLSI/Semiconductor domain as i did some research on it. i know the reputation of the college, but im looking for some unfiltered insights from current seniors or alumni:

  1. How is the ECE department really? Are the labs and equipment updated enough to actually learn VLSI-related tools, or is it mostly theory-based?
  2. What is the ground reality of core placements? Are semiconductor/hardware companies actually visiting the campus?
  3. How is the workload? Do students generally have time to self-study and work on extra projects (crucial for core branches)?

at last i would like to know if the peer of that college is good as im determined to prepare for GATE as well
