Just had an ah ha moment... I have auditory tactile synesthesia, would love to hear other peoples experience of it and how they manage. also currently looking for good speakers (any recommendations??)

I have struggled with certain sounds for a long time... sudden harsh sounds like fire alarm, grinding of a drill or even my electric tooth brush, revving of cars, tinging of metal cutlery on plates, they hurt. It feels like my ear drums have been hit, it reverberates through to my bones, and I get all over body aches, an intense stress response after, that takes me, some times, days to recover from. its so hard because even with ear defenders on, I can feel the vibrations going through my body, like I can't escape.

I haven't been able to listen to music at home for months (currently in autistic burnout), the different repetitive sounds (like pings, tsists, or harsh beats) made me wince, so have only been listening to pink noise.

Until I tried equaliser... OMG it is a game changer, switching to more bass (and other little hacks chat gpt advised), turned the sound from painful, to this delicious massage on my ears, with tingles going to my feet. When I get the balances right, The pleasure waves are bloody beautiful.

So I'm calling it... I have very high sensory standards for sound ;-p....
