I have MD and I’m building something for it - need your help

Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with maladaptive daydreaming for as long as I can remember. For me it’s this constant escape into a version of my life that feels more exciting, more meaningful than what’s actually in front of me. And the worst part is I know it’s eating into my real life but I can’t stop.

I’ve tried so many things. Meditation apps, journaling, just forcing myself to focus. Nothing really gets to the root of it.
Recently I started thinking that the reason I daydream so much is because there’s a real gap between the life I’m living and the life I actually want. And instead of trying to just stop the daydreaming, what if I actually worked on closing that gap?
That got me thinking about building something specifically for people like us. Not another generic mindfulness app but something that actually understands what MD feels like and helps you figure out why you escape and what you actually want your real life to look like.

Before I go any further I just want to ask you guys a few things because honestly your experiences matter more than anything:
• What does the life you daydream about actually look like?
• What’s missing in your real life that makes you want to escape?
• What have you tried to manage MD and why didn’t it work?

I just want to build something that actually helps us. Would love to hear your stories.
