I had accepted an offer and got the start date for next week. I was told the background checks would take about 5 weeks but this is the 6 or 7th week. Is this a normal time frame for the check or should I be concerned?

Update:
The recruiter has finally responded to the email I sent to Pre employment and cced her too. They asked pre employment to reply.
