Hello! Have never really posted in these kinds of things before but I thought it would do me justice in the long run.

For starters I'm a young black woman in my 20's from America who will moving to Karlsruhe in August 2026 as an Au Pair. Is there anything I should definitely know before going? How is the black community out there? I assume not lively but I'd still like to know. Any places that are a must-go and must-not-go? Literally anything you could think of I'd like for you to share.

Detailed Edit: I'm an American from Missouri going to Karlsruhe, Germany. I will be an Au Pair looking after a 2 year old girl. I like all things nature (Trail walking, hiking, swimming, and more). I love animals especially cats. I love trying new food spots, cooking/baking new foods. I looove jewelry and movies. I love learning new things and experiencing new things.. or the same things in different variants lol. If you love it I'd love to indulge and get to know why you like it, pretty much. Even if, in the end its not my thing.

Also, please share advice for being an Au Pair. This would be my first time doing this!
