Could the Hanta virus outbreak be an experiment to see how the virus behaves, gather data, and track its progression?

A boat is the perfect place to conduct an experiment. There is a low risk of the virus spreading outside the boat. You know exactly who is on board, and you can easily obtain medical data on those who have survived and those who have fallen ill. The test subjects are also unaware that it is a test they see it as a freak accident.

The data from the boat could then be incorporated into a large-scale study to see how a similar virus would behave on a global scale—identifying which people are at risk and which have a high chance of survival. The WHO could also share this information with pharmaceutical companies to begin developing a vaccine.
