Hello Pōneke! This one’s for you. Announcing Wellington Made.
Wellington Made is a blog, showcase and indexing resource of the best in Wellington’s design and visual creative work, from across the Greater Wellington Region. The site’s goal is to highlight and champion the incredible work created throughout the capital.
It’s a cross-section of everything happening and will be open to everyone to submit – individuals, studios, agencies, companies – whoever. Graphic design, typography, web design, digital design, apps, games, illustration, photography, film, fashion, art, architecture, interior design, product design, industrial design, urban design – it’s all welcome.
Whilst niche, my hope is that the site provides exposure to those that need it, to an audience that will grow beyond the capital. It might also help people searching for the right specialists, as Google ranking is by no means a reflection of quality.
Please submit projects that deserve to be seen! I’ll do my best to find interesting work from across the region, but it’ll be submissions and tip-offs that really make the site a success! The one major rule is: It must be Wellington Made. Either made by someone based in Wellington, or for an organisation based in Wellington.
Here’s hoping a simple site can help put more of Wellington’s work on the map. Cheers!
Additionally: There's no money being made on this. No ads or paid placements. It's purely for the love of Wellington's creativity, which is world class, but can be quite hard to find. I'm deep in Wellington's creative industry and keep finding new people making wonderful things, so a place to showcase everything felt like a nice side project.
