I’m literally going to lose it. I have almost 160 cases, almost all felony level…
My office is down several attorneys right now, which I understand, but there are people with 90-ish cases while I have almost 160. The case distribution system in our office is broken. I was assigned like 12 cases in the past 2 days, while others have been assigned none.
I am closing cases. I close a lot of cases. More than people who have been in the office the same amount of time as I have, yet I have 30-60 more cases than them. I have been barred for less than 2 years.
I cannot do my job in these conditions. I cannot provide my clients with effective representation with this many cases. It’s weighing on me heavily, to the point that I feel myself becoming apathetic, which is the last thing I want to happen.
I am going to talk to management about it (already have in the past), but this is not sustainable and the stress is killing me.
