If anyone is out there that has insight on the ARNG, the benefits that go with it, the ability to get picked for WO, is it worth being gone for 8ish months. Before signing can I get a sign on bonus or any add ons?
I’m currently in flight school and I’m having a difficult time managing to work a full time job, fly, and study. I want to join the ANG, and im 90% certain that I want to go, and here is why, it’ll pay for my tuition/flight school (partly), change of pace in my life, getting VA benefits for a 6 year contract, possibly getting picked for warrant officer after I reach an E4 status.
I am looking in 15T because it’ll keep me in the aviation side of things and I was also told that word of mouth/ being a 15T might increase my chances of a WO.
I know that I won’t qualify for the GI bill unless I get a Title 33, title 10 job, or deploy for a minimum of 180 days, and I’m currently researching other benefits that’ll apply to me but most of it is lawyer mumbo jumbo.
Please let me know y’all’s thoughts and if I’m missing anything and if what I’ve been told is accurate.
