Questions from a diamond tool manufacturer: What is your biggest headache with current diamond grinding tools?
Hi everyone, I work on the manufacturing side of diamond tools (diamond segment, grinding cups, polishing pucks&pads). I’m not here to sell anything—I actually want to make our products better for the people using them every day.
In your daily work, what drives you crazy about the tools you currently use?
- Is it the lifespan (they dull too fast)?
- Is the "bond" too hard or too soft for your local stone?
- Is it the safety/vibration?
- Or is it just that prices have become ridiculous for the quality you get?
I’d love to hear your honest frustrations...
P.S. I’ve been in the diamond tool manufacturing industry for a long time. If you have any questions about how these tools are actually made, the 'insider secrets' of the industry, or why certain tools fail, feel free to ask. I’m happy to pull back the curtain and help you guys avoid getting ripped off.
