Are we a minority?

The w204 is seriously the best looking Mercedes ever made yet I rarely see them around or at least in this shape, they’re usually all beat up and not taken care of. It’s such a timeless look that always puts a smile on my face by looking at it. The newer cars (2015+) don’t provide that to me and I’d probably just end up buying another one after this one’s done for my daily driver.

Is it true that we are in a small group? Are we simply a minority for the appreciation of an “older” car and thats why I don’t see them too often (relative to other Benz) as opposed to seeing the wagons, and sprinters all over the place?

Missing part *repost better pic*

Hello all I recently got a 2014 Mercedes C250 and I noticed for the same vehicle some have that red circled part attached to the coolant reservoir and some do not.

Does anybody know what this part is? I can’t find it anywhere but don’t want to take it to the dealer to buy it.

(First and second pics have the part, third picture is missing the part) sorry for the first terrible post, zoomed in on the part instead of showing the engine.

I’ve read basically everything of Dostoevsky when i first found out about him when I was around 14 years old and even though I understood the words and definitions of what I was reading I didn’t truly understand the paragraphs put together. I told myself I’d get back into it as I learned more and moved on to Carl Jung, Chekhov, Nietzsche, Freud, etc..

Now around a decade later I’m back into Dostoevsky again and the one I never really understood was a particular short story “The Dream of a Ridiculous Man” when I was younger. I read it and I can’t get enough of it and it is now my favorite short story. #1 story ever written in humanity. It is the Jimmy Hendrix of music. The Mike Tyson of fighting. It’s the Tarantino of Hollywood writing Django. It is the Book of Enoch from the Bible. Even Moses would be jealous of such writings. The precision and syntax is like no other. My English teacher showed me this in 7th grade to demonstrate how a well written book should be and I haven’t been able to find any other writer or books like that since then. After reading Dostoevsky everything else seems dead.

Anyone ever hit a stuck point where they can’t move on from the best of the best literature? Almost like finding your favorite song and then wishing you never found it..

Oddly enough I actually learned about Dostoevsky in English class in 7th grade never even in any psychology or philosophy class.

Has anyone done anything similar where they read Dostoevsky young then visit it again decade(s) later?

Curious to hear anyone’s thoughts about this short story!

My lifelong best friend was murdered around three years ago. He was a great person, never did drugs, never drank, actually helped me get out of those habits, got me into healthy eating/habits/working out, he was the one who made it seem possible for me to get my dream job which i did, he helped everyone around him at all times.

He was an engineer, had recently graduated with his masters at 26 years old and was starting his dream career too. But the last time i saw him he literally saved my life, if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here. We were driving in a winter storm and i was gonna fall off a canyon cliff deep in the mountains in my little RWD car and he gets out as its tipping and he pushes it back as i put it in neutral and we both gasp thinking how I could’ve been dead. He could’ve just left but he decided to save me. I thanked him so many times for it and we laughed about it but I never saw him in person after that as he moved for his dream career. I made jokes that he was an angel and his purpose was to save and guide me in life and we laughed about it. I then found out he was murdered after his father calls me a few months later. I was in a deep hole of just fighting demons and I’m now just finally out of it. The murderer was just caught this month and I am so ecstatic and filled with happiness.

Sorry for the pixelated pictures these were the pictures they used for his funeral obituary so I only want to use those publicly available ones out of respect for privacy.

Anyone have any insight or thoughts on what he may be thinking of this situation now? Thanks!
