Hello,

I want to start off by saying that I am speaking to my OBGYN about this and currently trying to solve the problem, but wanted to get opinions from others/suggestions that I can bring up to my OB as I am not sure what is going on.

timeline- around March of this year (2026), i began to have abnormal uterine bleeding. it was light and was mostly seeing blood when i went to use the restroom and would wipe and find blood. i also noticed that any movement/activity/pressure, would leave to an increase in the bleeding (bending, lifting, bowel movement). I went to my OB, and given my history of 2 large fibroids, she suggested we do an ultrasound. The ultrasound results showed that my fibroids shrunk, but that my lining was thick (12.5 mm) and that i likely have a uterine polyp ( 9 mm). She suggested that i start birth control (mili) to help control the bleeding and stabilize the lining.

I am now towards the end of week 5 of mili. I skipped the placebo week on the first pack and therefore, i have now been on the active pill for 5, about to be 6 weeks. I am experiencing bleeding all the time and if i exert any pressure, it gets worse. i am passing more clots/tissue as the weeks go on and it feels like the pill isn't helping. i also recently moved and i had to find a new OB. this office keeps telling me that bleeding is common and that unless i am soaking through a pad in an hour or less, that this is just part of the adjustment period. I am scared because the bleeding and clotting has gotten worse and I have now been continuously bleeding for more than 5 weeks (remember, i was bleeding before even going on birth control). I reached out to my old OB and she suspects that the polyp is causing this increase in bleeding. I have an appointment early next week and I am so worried that I am going to be told that this is "common" and that unless i am hemorrhaging, that this is expected. I have been taking ibuprofen often to help with the cramping and bleeding, but i know that is not a long term solution. how do i get my OB to take me seriously? I am afraid to move my body and exert any significant force as i worry about bleeding.
