we live with my mil because my husband is blind and has just always needed the extra support. for mother’s day my mother in law decided to clean the bathroom that my husband and i use and started yelling about how she shouldn’t have to clean on mother’s day.
we are literally all recovering from being sick and i don’t understand why she was so inpatient that our bathroom needed to be cleaned right at this exact moment.
my mother in law has a habit of paying to take us on trips we never asked to go on because she wants to go somewhere and then turning around and acting like everyone should be so happy all the time because of it.
My husband warned me about these trips. But as someone who grew up in a poor family that didn’t travel i was like all for it. So i agreed to go from southern louisiana to chattanooga. her, my husband, his brother , me,
My mother in law got a stomach bug the first day. my husband got the worst of it the second and i got it on the last day. even after being the first one sick, she was still pushing for us to go to rock city. (which my husband started getting sick in the middle of) and then the driving while sick was awful.
and in the middle of all this, while my husband is sore and can barely move and i’m still actively throwing up, she’s literally talking about the next place we’re going to go to.
my husband and i are putting our foot down. the amount of stress and anxiety around these trips from her control was enough but this was the last straw.
no more big trips with her.
