I'm 18 and nearly finishing highschool, I don't know what I want to do with my life, but I know what I love and enjoy doing. I love listening to music and I always felt that that's when I had the best time living so I always wanted to learn an instrument to play, however I never did because I know nothing about music, and I mean nothing, not one bit, only the order of the notes.

I wish to start learning violin because I think it's the most beautiful sounding instrument tied with the piano, but I need your most brutal, honest, no sugar coating, realistc opinion on if I, as a complete stranger to music, can learn violin.

I'm sorry if this question gets asked a lot, but I felt like asking for the opinion of unbiased (towards me) strangers on the internet, who also know a thing or two about the practice of violin, is a better pointer than the advice of close friends or family in the given context.
