Someone tell me why this sunscreen lowk gives me glass skin

I am seriously blown away by this sunscreen… Yes I’m a bit shiny/dewy right now, but I’m just the same with my k-beauty sunscreens; I always layer powder over it to reduce shine. I haven’t put powder over this sunscreen yet but I expect no issues. It feels the same. This feels.. cosmetically elegant?? Which is wild. My skin feels soooo smooth with this on. I layered it over B-pure night cream, red bottle blue cap. (I use this in the morning). Note, I am not sure how foundation would do over it and whether there would be pilling etc, I don’t wear foundation. I picked up a bunch of bottles of this sunscreen to use on my body to get me through the summer, but I am definitely going to start using on my face too, esp when I’ll be outside and sweating.

Dollar Tree Makeup Bag

Idk if y’all’s DT have these makeup bags… if you see it, get it!! They come folded up. I went ahead and bought an extra too. They have pink, black, and lavender.

These are SO handy, not only at holding DT makeup products (or any makeup products!) but also medicine, wipes, sunscreen, etc etc to have a go bag for your car. I find this so much better than the makeup bags that fold out and hang up, etc. I prefer having everything out in the open and a simple zipper. Plus this has much more room imo. It’s pretty huge. Also, for $1.25 each, you could have separate bags for face makeup and one for eyes/lips, if you are worried about having to do a bunch of digging to find stuff. But for me, this has been plenty of room to hold my DT makeup and non DT staples, (basically just Neutrogena shine control powder lol). It’s also so easy to pull out and put back up and see everything easily. This has been a lifesaver for organizing my makeup and keeping skincare and makeup completely separate; so much better.

So, I wanted to make a post about my routine and how you can dupe $$$ products for less than $5 at DT!! The ingredient lists at the end are for La Mer and Tatcha moisturizers. Using this routine, you seem to get the benefits of both products!

Eczema Relief Body Lotion - Ok, so I use this lotion on my face as moisturizer. I have sensitive skin and am prone to being red-faced; probably a form of rosacea. I would have *never* thought of using lotion on my face. I have combo skin with an oily T-zone, prone to some acne but nothing crazy. I used to shudder at the thought of putting petroleum or mineral oil on my face. It clogs pores!! Until recently, when I discovered that both have a comedogenic rating of 0!! I also learned that mineral oil and petroleum are top ingredients in several high-end moisturizers. The source of the trouble and bad reputation for these ingredients comes in because these powerful occlusives lock in everything on your face, including bacteria, which can lead to acne and breakouts. This is why it’s really important to wash hands with this routine. Topical clindamycin is also a great add-on to this routine for acne prone skin.

Glow up serum - Hydrating and very soothing

Anti aging peptide serum - amazing to have such a great peptide serum at this price; I use this on face and body (loose skin from pregnancy) and I really can tell a difference after just a few weeks.

Rice water toner - Lovely and such a great way to prep skin

My routine: Wash face using the Orchid cleanser. Wash hands and apply toner, serum, then the eczema lotion on my face. I alternate serums and sometimes use just once a day; with my sensitive skin, all the actives can start to get pretty irritating if I do too much.

The eczema lotion has 3/4 of the same top ingredients as La Mer moisturizer. It has also done such a great job at soothing my skin and eliminating redness. It is fantastic; I’ve been using morning and night. As it’s getting hotter I’ll probably switch to just pm. I have had no issues with layering SPF or any products over this moisturizer/lotion. It’s shocking that a $1.25 body lotion can give the same/very similar benefits to such a high-end product. As to whether it makes me look greasy, after I put my SPF, and face powder (Neutrogena shine control + proluxe matte powder for color), nope looks perfect!! You’ll probably need to blot/put more powder after a few hours, but I’d need to do that anyway.

Then, using the combination of the toner and serum, it seems you’re getting the same benefits as Tatcha; the toner has the same 3 top ingredients and then the serum boosts even further. Both the anti-aging peptide serum and the glow up serum have rice ferment second on the ingredients list, and in the case of the peptide serum, you’re getting a big boost over the Tatcha, imo, with the addition of the peptides.

So, using this routine you are getting basically the same top ingredients as high-end products, and you are able to combine the benefits of both, which is incredible. Long live Dollar Tree beauty 🙌🙌
