My kid is taking swimming lessons. She is good, except for the backstroke.
She hates it when water gets to her face but get this - only during backstroke.
She is on her second round of course because she can't pass the test without the backstroke.
She has been swimming since the start without goggles.
She can get her whole face under water without goggles - for breaststroke, beginner freestyle, even diving. But backstroke? She flinches when a bit of water gets in her face.
I don't know what's the problem, I'm so lost. I don't want ther to go another round of classes just because of this one problem. I also don't want to give her goggles because I believe (maybe?) it will just be a false sense of security and she won't swim without it anymore.
Any advise?
thank you!!
