Hi all,

I've got a small dispute with a builder at the moment. It's about the expansion gap for the engineered wood flooring, and what is or isn't needed where they join the bifolds.

He says he would normally use a bead of silcone or leave a 5 mil gap and a bit of flat D mould trim, but I spoke to a specialist floor fitter who insisted it needs to have a 10mm gap.

Builder isn't happy because he's being told how to do his job and thinks "it'll look shit".

I'm just worried about issues with the floor bulging etc down the line as at the moment it's a herringbone floor sitting flush against the bifold door frame.

Any advice on what the right thing to do is, and what to place over the gap etc?

Thanks all
