I am using English (Germany) with German layout in selection but cannot type the | and > please help, I tried every possible combination like altgr, fn, shift fn, shift altgr, shift fn altgr, but none work.

I know this is QWERTZ, my question is how to specifically access the characters on the L key. I don't even care about | but the < > are very important to me.
