I posted here earlier before going to my application appointment, and I’m happy to share that, against all expectations, I’ve been approved for the Sapphire Preferred with a total of 1 month of credit history (albeit with the minimum 5k credit limit).

My stats:

Annual income: 145k
Monthly rent: 1800
Credit score: 679 Vantage (down from 682 a few weeks ago)
Credit history: 1 month total
Other credit items: Discover card (3k limit), Amex BCP (10k limit, does not show up in credit report), 11k car lease
Assets: 15k in Chase chequing account

I’m a Canadian who moved to the US for work 1 month ago, and my entire credit history in the US is 1 month old.
