Flying with Infant + toddler

Right now it’s looking lime southwest is our option to fly, because it’s the only one without a layover, wondering how southwest is now with the seating assignments. I’ve heard really bad things especially with traveling with littles. Wondering if it’s gotten better or if should just do the layover with another thanks!

Recently got this kelty kids carrier off eBay! I really like it and I have a trip to Disney I want to use it at. But I didn’t even think of the process for getting on a plane? I will also have my double stroller to gate check that. But just seeing if others had to pay for it like a checked bag or what you did
