I'm moving to a new place and trying to avoid the having to pay under my current rate. I have AT&T internet now. I know if I move the service, I keep my old rate.

But if I cancel and have my roommate sign up at the new address under their name, will we qualify for the $200+ in gift cards and the intro pricing? Has anyone done this recently without a 60-day wait?

I guess the other option would be to cancel the retention department and tell them that I'm considering switching to a competitor as they offer better rates for new customers and see what they can do.
