I’m a teenager who has never had a crush on anyone before. A close friend of mine says that they think I’m aroace, but I’m not sure. I consider people or certain actions to be attractive or cute, and I enjoy reading romance. I’m not sure if I would want to be in a relationship with anyone, but my problem is that I can’t figure out if I’m opposed to it because I’m aro or if it’s because of social standards. Unfortunately, I somehow managed to present myself as aroace to everyone around me (including that close friend, so I understand why they would assume I am), and I do make sure not to express any opinions of a person being attractive. I know this doesn’t necessarily mean I’m not aroace (it’s not like you can’t objectively see someone as good-looking), but I was wondering on the opinions of people who do consider themselves to be a-spec?
