Need to disable Headphone Jack/Digital Out completely on 2009 MacBook
Hiya gang! Hope all is well.
So recently I got my pop's old 2009 MacBook, seems to be working well except for one thing: There's no sound. I eventually found out that it's because the headphone jack is jammed with a broken plug. In trying to remove it ranging from a toothpick with glue to a full on power drill, I haven't managed to make any improvements. Now I found out that you can make it play out of the speakers by holding "Option" on the sound device panel, but occasionally it'll switch back to the broken headphone jack again.
Now, on to the meat & potatoes: I need to find a way to permanently disable the headphone jack, make the Mac think it doesn't even have one. Preferably through software, though if simply removing the thing would work then that'd be fine. Is there ANY way I can make the Mac forget the headphone jack permanently? Any boot parameters I can set up in the terminal, any software I can install, any modifications I can make? Any & all help is apreceated, thanks in advance!
