7 Days Post-Op (Laparoscopic Inguinal): Feeling great and so relieved I finally did it!
I’m officially one week out from my laparoscopic right inguinal hernia repair! Honestly, I have zero pain and zero discomfort. If it weren’t for the incisions on my stomach, I wouldn’t even know I had surgery :)
I’m sleeping like a baby. My routine consists of short 15-20 minute walks throughout the day (keeping my posture nice and upright), plenty of rest, and taking it easy. Everything is going great.
I’m also doubling down on hydration (2.5 to 3 liters of water a day) and keeping my diet super clean: no sugar, no alcohol, and no greasy foods. It’s basically been lots of salad, fiber, good carbs, and portioned protein throughout the day. The swelling is already going down!
I feel so happy and relieved to have finally fixed this. I’d been suffering with this hernia since 2020, and looking back, I can’t believe I let fear make me wait so long. Fear paralyzes us and makes us play these crazy mental movies, but the reality is so different.
I’m really proud of myself for overcoming this, and my faith feels totally renewed. From the moment I walked into that OR, I just put it in God's hands, calmed my mind, relaxed my body, and trusted the process!
4th day post op

Fourth postoperative day
The surgery took place on April 13th. Today is the fourth day (fifth, if counting the day of the procedure) of recovery from a right-sided unilateral inguinal herniorrhaphy (laparoscopic).
Pain/Discomfort Level: Zero.
Status: I am doing very well. I had my first night of great sleep; I only woke up once to use the bathroom but went right back to bed and fell asleep again.
Obs: I noticed a bit of sweating, but that’s normal during this recovery process.
Mobility: I am taking several light 20-minute walks around the house. Getting in and out of bed and going to the bathroom has become much easier.
Everything is going very smoothly!
