Eradicating the Sassanids as Western Rome on Deity [Fall of Rome Scenario]
I'm working on a fun challenge to try to take down each AI in the fall of Rome scenario on deity, and I'm happy to say I took down the Sassanids! I completed the challenge on turn 67 (which is the last screenshot). This is a really fun one, as you have to strike a balance between sending as many units east as possible, as early as possible, without giving up too much on the homefront. I tried this one a couple times and found that you really need Theodora to hold some cities, most importantly Melitene, and it helps if the Huns fight the Sassanids as well. This was the best seed I have found yet, and I leveraged Theodora's early success by sending the legion that starts in Rome east immediately to help her save her cities. I took the next batch of units and made sure that Greece held, securing my 'supply line' by saving the road and sea lane through Greece into Anatolia. I then moved my giant mass of units from Greece to the Persian borders and started my attack on turn 35. Fighting the Persians really wasn't that bad, and I could have won a couple turns sooner, I just couldn't take the last city or I would be below -10 on happiness. If anyone is interested in trying out Fall of Rome I love this scenario and I'm happy to answer any questions!
