Hi,

I've decided it was time to overhaul my DVD collection and from now on get Blurays instead.
I would like to know several things :

  1. I don't have a TV so I'd be using My PC screen which is 2540x1440 pixels and is 60 Hz. As far as I understand I could plug a blu-ray player directly to the screen with an HDMI cable. Is this viable ?

1.5) Am I right to think that by plugging a Bluray player directly to the screen and not having my PC use any role in this (as in : shut down) then I avoid all the hassle of the software ?

  1. If the above is true and works then I need to take care of the audio and since my screen doesn't have any audio I need to find a player that has RCA audio out that I can plug to my monitors. Is this ok so far ?

3a) Then I'm seeing that many Bluray films are now in 4K So can I read those even on a non 4K Bluray player (maybe I'd get a non 4K player first, staying under 100€, and next year a 4K one...) ?

3b) Since my screen is in between HD and 4K (it's a 2540x1440 / 60 Hz) would the image still be OK and nice with a non 4K bluray player ?

3c) With a 4K player and 4K discs would I benefit a little from 4K with my 2540x1440 even if a little compared to 3840x2560 screen ?

Thanks in advance !

I thought it was fixed, or this isn't a bug : it's a feature ?
So this morning I crafted a tactical radiation suit to go do the Irradiated overland testing station but in the first room I noticed that voice is still not working on heavies.
So whoever said the restart on yesterday was supposed to fix it : well it didn't...

Anyway, I decided to go out and not finish it, considering the number of heavies in the second room. But I'd still like to be able to do the overland testing stations in the meantime sooooo : any other builds not relying on voice ?

Thanks in advance !
