I'm working on a personal project and looking for real-life experiences about cross-border mortgage financing within the EU.

If you've been through this:

• Which country were you buying in, and where were you living/earning at the time?
• Did you approach banks in your home country, in the target country, or both?
• Did it work out ? If so, how did you pull it off, and what guarantees were required?
• If it didn't work, where did it break down?
• Did you use a mortgage broker? Which one, and how did it go?

All experiences welcome, including the failures and ongoing struggles.

Dans le cadre d'un projet perso, je cherche des retours d'expérience concrets sur le financement de bien immobilier étranger pour des Français.

Si vous avez essayé d'acheter en zone Euro (Espagne, Portugal, Italie, Grèce, etc.) ou ailleurs :

• Avez-vous sollicité une banque française, locale, ou les deux ?
• Si ça a abouti, comment avez-vous fait ? Qu'est-ce qu'on vous a demandé comme garantie ? Quel pays, quel type de bien, quel profil approximatif (salarié, TNS, fonctionnaire) ?
• Si ça n'a pas abouti, quel a été le blocage ?
• Avez-vous fait appel à un courtier ? Avec des résultats ?

Tous les retours me seront utiles, y compris les échecs ou galères.
