Hello!
I will be starting Grad school (a PhD in the humanities) this fall, and was thinking of becoming an Insurance agent on the side since my stipend is barely enough to survive in the area I am moving to. Additionally I want to do something Sales/customer service related to help me grow as a person, become more confident, speak better, and connect with people better, basically improve my people skills. I used to do sales and sell warranties at a retail store and have worked in retail while I was an undergrad, but otherwise don't have much sales experience.
I was wondering if you all had some guidance on how to become an agent and find an agency that will pay for the licensing (i'm moving to Cali).
Also I'd like to eventually become an independent agent or broker since I think I would feel better helping people finding the best rates instead of trying to convince them to buy my agencies' rates.
Any advice would be appreciated!
