New fear unlocked
Hey I’m new to surfing in cali just got my beginner board always wanted to learn. I was prepping and taking baby steps learning to pop up etc finally worked my way up to just face the parts of surfing that make me uncomfortable. Had tons of conversations about wat to be careful of and how to read the ocean been working out and swimming laps to give myself confidence (honestly my biggest fear). Im scheduled for a lesson… all of a sudden there’s sightings (they’re there I know we just hardly see them) of juvenile great whites off the coast and they say they expect more from El Niño.
I know yall r tired of hearing about this but is this still a bad time to learn with all the falling im about to do?lol . It seems the lessons r still on tho but it would be just me and an instructor he says a bit away from any group that’s out there. So we’d essentially be the two dumb ass seals. The funny thing is I’ve been diving but I feel differently about water when I’m submerged vs floating. Either way the drive to learn outweighs the fear I just need u to lie to me so I feel better. I honestly hadn’t thought about it much before 😂
