Lumix 35-100 f2.8 Mk I AF inconsistent on OM-1 Mk II

Does anyone have experience using this lens - or the Mk II (H-HSA12035) - on an Olympus or OM System body?

I have a Mk I Lumix 35-100 f2.8 (H-HS12035) that I bought new in 2017 for a trip and really haven't used since so I know it's not been abused. Recently I wanted to use it again and decided to check the image quality with a test chart in my standard way: chart on a stand, camera on a tripod, wireless shutter release.

What I found was very inconsistent focus - like only a 50% to 75% hit rate. This is at 2.8 but still happens up to 4.0 or 5.6. This lens OIS was switched off, and I tried combinations of camera IBIS on and off, S-AF and C-AF, and mechanical and electronic shutter. About the only difference any of this made is that contrary to what Google AI said, the C-AF seemed to be more consistent. I also tested my Olympus 40-150 f2.8 and it was sport on with a 100% hit rate.

Searching the 'net there was some AI search hinting that this Mk I version is noted for unreliable AF on Olympus bodies at 100mm and that the faster AF motor in the Mk II version of this lens gives more accurate AF, but does anyone here have any experiences that might confirm or deny this? Thanks in advance for your help.
