I am confused about how the Staatsexamen works for international students and whether I need to take an entrance exam before starting the course.

I’m curious
about the burn of acid 
sliding down a throat.

I wonder 
about the rope tightening,
making it harder to breathe,
vision blurring
into nothing.

Sometimes I imagine
how people feel
after taking pills,
drifting into silence, 
closing their eyes
knowing it's the last time
ever.

We also carry the chance
but we don’t want it. 
They do.

Does anyone know
how people feel
after jumping off?
The scream they let out,
is it a scream 
filled with regret?
Or a plea
to meet the ground faster?

When death inches closer,
Do they regret what they did?
remembering their loved ones
or the hollow space
where love should’ve lived.

Do they finally find
the peace they yearned for,
or does guilt and fear 
engulf them?

What kind of desperation 
must they have carried
to wipe themselves away
instead of the problem?

Or maybe they carved
their own reasons to escape,
chasing shadows
that were never real.
