Not sure if it's even possible! It fits her perfectly on the top section, but from the waist it's quite large on her. She wants it to have some shape but I'm struggling to know which way to do it.

I considering adding elastic but it might look weird considering there's a seam on the top section. Darts may look silly as it's a flowy dress? Might also have the same issue if curving the side seams. Please help as I don't want to ruin the dress 😂

Can you take in a tunic dress at the waist easily, without unpicking it all? Will it ruin the flow/look of the dress?

Seams are across the waist and at the sides of the dress!

This is for my friend. The bust area fits well on her, but the waist is large and she wanted more shape. I have never altered a dress like this and looking for recommendations please.
