Help with brace options/understanding differences

Hi--my 13 year old was diagnosed with an S curve and prescribed a Rigo Cheneau brace. We live within driving distance of several clinics the doctor recommended, including the National Scoliosis Center. However, they don't take our insurance so the cost would be over $5,000 self-pay. They said because of age and remaining growth my child will most likely need 2 if not 3 braces over time. So somewhere between $15,000-20,000 total. We also live near a Boston/OP Specialty Bracing practice that *does* take our insurance. I understand that Boston makes a brace that "incorporates Rigo Cheneau principles." I'm unclear on what this means. Is it much different from a "true" RC brace? Paying out of pocket would be a significant strain on our finances but I'm willing to do it if there is a reason to do so. Thanks for any advice.
