Returning player destroyed in matchmaking
I played a lot way back, probably 10-15 years ago. Recently I had the itch to pick it up again. Now I'm certainly not playing well - rusty from so many years off, and also I don't understand what I'm playing against like 80% of the time. Still, I'm not a new player, I understand the basics, and have some pretty good moves overall. But I'm getting absolutely obliterated. Like, I think I won 1 game out of the first 20 I've played, and the rest I've been demolished. Like 0/6/1 average KDA at the 15-20 minute mark. At that point I probably contributed to feeding the champ facing me, and more or less we lose because of that.
Are there just no average skill players left? Or is matchmaking really this bad? I obviously don't mind losing, especially if I'm being outplayed, but I don't want to be severely outplayed EVERY game... I've played both Swiftplay and Normal draft (I also got obliterated in Brawl 4 or 5 times, before it rotated out).
