(Almost) everything shown so far in the playtest

Note: this post will only talk about what has been explicitly shown in the playtest on May 10th. Nothing has been shown or said about the Catacombes rework or Trafalgar House, for example, so they will not be mentioned. Don't make inferences and pester the developers about what is or isn't releasing in the update.

New Map: Moss Ironworks (Objective)

This new map is roughly equivalent to Kaub in both length and objectives involved. A brief summary of the progression is:

  • Exit abandoned building and travel through the streets of Moss, destroying a palisade and door barricade until you find a chandelier
  • Push sled-mounted cannon to cliff face and use the chandelier as a makeshift zipline to cross the rapids
  • Collect coal and iron into a cart and push it up to hill to the Ironworks, where there is a respawn
  • Finale at the ironworks, where you have to holdout and funnel the collected fuel into a furnace to cast guns, which you use to escape on a log raft

The finale spawns cuirassiers and, similar to the end of Vardohus, forces all respawned players into a single regiment - the first civilian regiment in the game so far (mentioned below). If you are particularly interested in the specifics of Moss, this video shows off most of the map.

Gameplay/UI Changes

Most gameplay changes have already been shown off in sneak peaks, but here are some of the more interesting:

  • Surgeons healing will now properly align with the recipient and always use their end of healing voiceline even if it was cancelled early
  • Revamped zombie sounds so they're no longer ripped from NMRiH
  • Polish callouts have been revamped and Irish callouts have been added to the 3ème Régiment Étranger under France as well as the 87th Regiment of Foot for Britain. No confirmation about Russian revamped callouts.
  • Melee swing direction stays locked when a charge ends
  • Because of Roblox taking down some of the regiment standards, the regiment UI now shows a headshot of each regiment instead

New Cosmetics

Two new faces that have previously been shown off are being added:

Frown, which appears to be default and has no unlock requirements

The infamous \"British Smile\" returns. Reward for earning the Madcaps of London badge

At least 3 new accessories are being added:

Handkerchief Face (Head region), Handkerchief Neck (Neck region) and Drahtbrille (Glasses region, Pince Nez but with black lens)

5 new hairstyles, and the free Stubble beard appears to have gotten a 3D mesh (Thanks to G&B Community Cosmetics Pack on the official Discord for images):

Tonsure (Monk hair), Captain Agreeable, Irishman (Saul Goodman?), Murat (eponymous) and Marauder

New Regiments

This update probably adds more regiments then any update in the game's history so far. Do note that many regiments have not been finalised and lack headwear and/or equipment. The new regiments by nation are:

Britain (1 new regiment):

Prussia (5 new regiments, all infantry):

  • 5. Infanterie Regiment (Appears to replace 18. Infanterie Regiment?)
  • Mansfelder Pioneer Regiment
  • 1. Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment
  • 7. Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment
  • Fuss Artillerie

Denmark (11 new regiments, excluding reworked regiments, presumably all infantry):

Matros-Compagniet not pictured

The Holstenske Infanteriregiment and Slesvigske Infanteriregiment appear to have been removed/replaced.

Sweden (2 new regiments):

As previously shown off, regiments with RNG elements (e.g. different hats, pants and shirts) will be able to switch between them on the regiment screen.

If I missed anything, please do mention it in the comments. Just remember that the update is not finalised or fully shown off, everything is subject to change.
