Percent of Autistic Adults in each level of support needs in the DSM?
Has there been a study that clearly states what percentage of adult autistics fall into each level of support needs (1, 2 or 3) in the DSM-5 / DSM-5-TR? (I am writing something where this number would be helpful.)
The best studies I could find that are somewhat close:
This shows children and gives a definition of "severe autism" that would include some but not all level 2 support needs. https://autismsciencefoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/CDC-Profound-Autism-Statistics_ASF-Copy.pdf
This shows kids can change which level of support needs they have & often need more at 6 than 3. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10803-020-04526-z
This shows "The increase in autism prevalence between 2000 and 2016 was confined to autism with milder phenotypes."
