Both Joan of Arc and Napoleon are influential figures in French history. We know what Napoleon thought of Joan; he was very inspired by her and admired her greatly. However, I never hear people talk about what Joan of Arc would think of Napoleon and the French Revolution. How would she feel about the French monarch causing suffering around France in the late 18th century? How would she feel about France abolishing the monarchy (executing the king and queen) to create the French First Republic? How would she feel about the very messy politics at the time (the Reign of Terror, the coup of 18 Brumaire)? And how would she feel about Napoleon Bonaparte making himself First Consul and crowning himself Emperor? What he did with the revolution. How he massacred a crowd of his people with artillery. But also, what would Joan think of Napoleon as a military genius and successful conquests around Europe?
