Small token of appreciation for placement mentor

Hi everyone! I’m currently on my first placement with one of my uni friends, and our mentor is absolutely lovely. We wanted to get him something small just as a thank you, like a bottle of wine and chocolates or something. As this is both of our first placement, I’m not sure if this is seen as unprofessional/offensive in any way? Would it be okay if we got him something like that?

Am I asking for too much?

(Repost because I wanted to add an update)

Hi guys, so me (F22) and my boyfriend (M28) have been together for 10 months and I absolutely love him. We don’t live together but we see each other almost every other day

We recently had an argument about him not texting me enough, he will not reply to me for around 2 hours as he’s busy gaming or hanging out with his friends. I’m the type of person to update him on every single thing, especially if I’m going to be doing something that requires me to be away from my phone for that long. His argument is that I should trust him and he should be allowed to be away from his phone for a couple hours without notice. As he’s a bit older, he’s also on his phone less.

My argument is that it’s decent to just keep your partner in the loop, even about the mundane things in your life. I’ve also told him previously that I love it when he randomly calls me or sends me random updates about his day and work and stuff. I also think it’s okay to just quickly check your phone and send a quick reply to your partner in social settings. He actually used to be pretty good at it but I’ve just noticed it declining lately. I can also see he’s active on Facebook (it shows up) so clearly he is on his phone.

Am I looking into it too much? It’s not that I don’t trust him, I just like to be involved in his life and interests the same way I involve him in mine.

Hi guys! I start my first placement in a few weeks at a catholic secondary school. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on what resource I should take/any general tips? Feeling a bit nervous 😥
