What would my chances of getting a waiver approved be? (Self harm)
Around 4 years ago I started to self harm. I did this for a period of around 2 years and have not done anything of the sort in the last 2. Some of these injuries were very severe and resulted in extensive scarring. I was also prescribed antidepressants during that period and went to weekly therapy for maybe 9 months.
My mental state has since improved dramatically; to the point where I can scarcely believe I was even ever capable of doing what I did.
That being said, I’d like to join the army and my primary concern is that with how iffy getting waivers approved for matters of this sort can be, a mere 2 years of no incidents paired with the severity of the scarring may not inspire all that much confidence.
Assuming my chances are at least above 0, are there any steps I can take now to up them?
Any information, advice, or thoughts are more than appreciated.
I’ll be 20 this August if that’s at all relevant.
