Beginner camera

Long story short, worked at a few weddings to set up and do a bunch of different things, anyways now I’m interested in getting into photography after talking to all the photographers and learning about their experiences. Always loved the idea of doing photography, but never thought about actually getting into it until recently.
Now I know weddings can be very stressful, and it will take a lot of time to be able to do that. With that said, what equipment would you recommend and what steps should I take? Thank you

Budget: about $1000 for camera and lens? Found r50 for $800 which is what I’m currently heavily considering

Country: USA

Condition: prefer new, but don’t mind

Type of Camera: Mirrorless

Intended use: Photography mostly, some videos here and there

If photography; what style: portraits and events

Portability: don’t really mind, I’ll be carrying it around so just fit in a camera bag

Cameras you're considering:

Cameras you already have: What do you like or dislike about them?

Notes: (any other considerations you think we should know about)
