*help* Did Walgreens change its policy for controlled substance prescriptions sent by telehealth providers?

TLDR: They just told me they can’t fill my controlled substance prescription anymore because my psychiatrist is more than 50 miles away from the pharmacy. They also said Walgreens no longer accepts controlled substance prescriptions from telehealth providers.

Sorry to bug you guys with this post, not sure where else to ask

___

I’ve seen the same psychiatrist for 6 years and have filled this medication (Xanax) at this specific Walgreens for about 3 years without issues. I’ve been hospitalized out of state for the past 2 months after my 12th neurosurgery, and I’m still recovering/partly bedridden, so in-person appointments and switching providers quickly aren’t realistic right now. I'm not sure if this was implemented while I was gone but I got no heads up and I'm out in a few days

It has happened before where an individual pharmacist refused to fill something and gave a vague reason, so I’m trying to figure out whether this is an actual Walgreens policy change, a state/federal rule, or just this pharmacists discretion.

Has anyone else had this happen recently with telehealth-controlled substance prescriptions, especially if the provider is more than 50 miles away? Should I ask my psychiatrist to call the pharmacy, try another Walgreens, or switch pharmacies entirely?

My insurance only lets me go through Walgreens, I'm not sure how that affects my options
