Are these bed bugs?
Hi,
On May 2, I started feeling itchy around my abdomen and saw bite marks (I have attached photos). They started healing after a few days, but then on May 7, I got a new wave of bites, even more than the first time on the 2nd. The bites started around belly and waistline, but the new bites targetted my ankles and behind my calves, near the knee. Most of the bites are somewhat clustered. They are red, circular, some about the size of a sesame seed and others the size of a green pea. If you want to see them, check my other posts.
I live in a condo townhouse in the Greater Toronto Area (Southern Canada, Ontario), and I slept on the floor with blankets underneath beside my brother (he was on a mattress, also on the floor). I was the first to receive bites, and over the next few days after the 2nd, my brother got some bites as well. Then my family members in the other rooms started getting some as well. However, I seemed to be the heaviest hit (most bites, itchiest bites).
I have washed, dried all the blankets, and mattress covers and some of my clothes. I have isolated the mattress and suspended it off the floor with empty plastic bins, and surrounded the mattress area with duct tape (only about half though, I was too tired to finish it). The photo captures a bug? caught on the tape, and another one (can't tell if it's a bug) on my yellow shirt (folded in the basket nearby).
Based on the photos, are these bed bugs? What should I do? They itch like mad, and I also need some kind of remedy from the itch.
I should also mention I visited a grassy, wet drainage area (and walked through it) on May 2, and started a warehouse job on April 29 (which I take the bus to get there). There is also possibly a birds nest in the ceiling above the bathroom (of which, my room is close to, both on the top floor).
Thank you.
