SOOO… I return back to work after mat leave this September. Today I found out that I’ve been assigned a 1/2 split grade at a new school to which I’m surplussed. I’ve only taught 1/2 for planning time, never as homeroom. I’m nervous. I’m anxious. I feel like the transition from SAHM back to perm teaching while leaving my daughter at Montessori will be tough. I used to be a really involved teacher before having my baby (clubs, after school tutoring, etc), but idk how I can even fathom this upon my return. So for those of you who had to transition back to teaching and while having a new grade or even from teacher to mom-teacher.. Do you have any advice? What can I expect? What should I do/not do? Any advice is appreciated!
