Question regarding "Escalation"

Hi everyone,

I have a specific question regarding the escalation process after an "additional documents" request.

I applied for a Student Visa from Turkey (for Warwick University). On April 8th, I received a request for further documents, which I provided immediately. Since then, it has been over 5 weeks.

My university is now initiating an institutional enquiry. However, I’ve seen conflicting info about escalating the case personally.

  1. Does personal escalation actually speed up a case that has already been flagged for "additional documents"?
  2. Is there any risk that a personal escalation might interfere with the university’s enquiry?
  3. For those who received an "application will not be processed within standard timescales" email (on April 8th), how long did it take for a decision after that?

I’ve already checked the official processing times and the timeline megathread, but I’m specifically looking for advice on the escalation vs. university enquiry dynamic.

Thanks!
