i got this piercing done at the beginning of february 2026. the one next to it ive had since july 2023 and it healed with no issues, but the second one is having some problems. both bars are 1.2 x 10mm surgical steel labrets. i clean 3 times a day with the steripierce saline solution, no mouthwash. i havent downsized the bars yet because the second one had trouble healing and i didnt want to cause any issues.

close to 3 weeks ago, i woke up with a bump on the inside of my new piercing. i saw my piercer the next day and he advised me to treat it with soluble aspirin and told me to order some plastic ones to put in while it heals. i wont be able to get them changed until the end of this month and i was treating it with the aspirin for around 2 weeks. it helped and made the bump a lot smaller, however i had to stop using the aspirin for a day because it made my gums sore and that messed everything up. since then i havent been able to get it to shrink and its only grown more. when i first got the bump, it was only on one side of the piercing, but now it literally wraps around the entire bar and im worried that theres nothing i can do to stop it from getting bigger. its also starting to become painful.

is there anything i can do to soothe it until i can get the bars replaced or will i just have to give up on it?? 😭😭
