My roommate (30F) is planning to move out but hasn’t told me directly yet. However, I (28F) found out through her boyfriend, who posted in a local Facebook housing group and tagged her saying that they are looking for an apartment together. I had also overheard them talking about it in the living room while I was in the kitchen, but she shushed him knowing I was in the other room. Also, her boyfriend’s roommate recently posted in the same Facebook group looking for a replacement for him.
She’s definitely been a good roommate and is a very nice and sweet person, but I’ve been mildly frustrated with her from the beginning. She had been living in the apartment for years before I moved in, and every time she would propose doing something (hanging out together, cleaning the house together) it was really just an empty offer and she never followed through even when I emphatically agreed. So with this new lack of communication, it’s taken me from very mildly frustrated to frustrated and hurt. Especially when she said she was blindsided when her previous roommate moved out, she’s doing the same to me!
Notable, she and I have a mutual friend. They suggested to me that I bring it up to her, but I truly feel like it’s her news to share (moving in with her bf). How should I handle this?
