I am buying my first "expensive", quality watch and am looking specifically at Seiko because I was told to go Japanese made watches. I want to buy a watch that is rugged and will last a long time, automatic, and a steel/metal band. I was looking at the prospex and alpinist. What recommendations do you have for me? Are these good watches to start with? My budget is $1000.
