So I was exclusively pumping for almost a month and baby had a small hospital stay when we go home was super clingy and didn’t want me to put him down so I decided to see if maybe he’d relatch and he did! But I had been exclusively only pumping 2oz at a time maybe 3 on occasion but he’s almost 6weeks he is definitely eating more. So now I’m at a place when he loves the boob he will latch and basically use me as a pacifier it feels sometimes. And I’ll give formula if I see he’s still hungry. Will my supple ever increase to be able to feed him without formula?

So baby hasn’t latched since week 1 I wasn’t making enough milk for him so I focused on pumping and he’s now 5.5 weeks and I’m still getting max 2 oz. But recently he started latching again with enthusiasm. So I went to the lactation group today and they told me he’s drinking great but not enough to keep him full so I need to give some formula as well or pumped breastmilk. Worked totally fine during the group and the afternoon when I came home. Now I’ve got the evening. He’s drank from both breasts and had some formula, burped and should be ready for a nap. He’s not. He’s still giving feeding cues. I waited a bit and let him go at the boobs again. Seemed like he drank just fine. Still giving cues. Tried giving his binky. Not having it so we started rocking him and walking him and he won’t quit with the cues. Just gave him another oz. Seems like he’s finally settling a bit but why the change from the afternoon 🥺 i thought we finally figured it out. Also I did wait inbetween giving more formula and boob as to try not to let him overfill.
