Hello, I hope everyone is well and this thread has proved super helpful. I have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to assist :)
Background:
I (southeast asian, non british) have a SWV for 2 years and my gf (southeast asian, non british) is on a graduate visa. We are not married and have been together since January 2022. However, we did not live together as she was in uni in a different city in the UK while I was working in a different city.
We moved in together on June 2024 and have been living together since. However, I note we have not met the 2 year cohabitation timeline as we need another month to reach this but have reasons as above.
We are going to apply for the unmarried SWV visa soon as gf’s visa expires shortly and was wondering if we have covered all bases or if anything further is needed to be submitted.
We have currently April 2026 moved into a house bought my her family and have bank statements etc to prove we lived together but no tenancy agreement as they offered us a room.
We have the below evidence:
- Tenancy agreement for old house from June 2024 - April 2026
- Evidence of bank transfers from 2022 to 2026
- Individual Bank statements showing proof of same address from June 2024. Joint bank statements (fairly recent) showing proof of address
- Utility bills showing proof of address
- Council tax bills showing proof of address
- Credit card bills showing proof of address
- My degree and Master’s certificate
- Her degree
- Passports and government sharecodes. My CoS as well as her graduate visa share code.
- My payslips from the past 12 months of income above £29,000
- Her payslips but not above the £29,000 threshold as she only recently went above it
- Cover Letter explaining our relationship timeline, why we couldn’t live together, now living together and future plans
- Pictures together from 2022 until 2026 showing milestones, anniversaries, birthdays, family meet-ups the past 4 years. Small letter boxes explaining each picture
- Flight tickets and hotel receipts from trips we went on together the past years
- Bus and train tickets showing we met up every other month when we were not in the same city and doing long distance
- Screenshots from our conversations. One picture every month from 2022 to 2026
- Call logs from 2022 to 2026
- Letter from her family explaining our relationship
Any help or advise would be greatly greatly appreciated as we only have a short duration until her visa expires.
Thank you so much to everyone who helps!!!!!! And will be posting updates etc
